The Images and Visual Representation Group (IVRG) performs research that is primarily focused on the capture, analysis and reproduction of natural color images. To this effect, we develop algorithms that help us to either understand, process, or measure color images. The following links will give you more information about who we are, our research and our teaching activities. This page is no longer updated. Please visit our new page.
Javier Vazquez Corral joins IVRG for a three months Post-Doc. (July 2011)
Matthew Brown presented our work on Multispectral SIFT for Scene Category Recognition at the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR11) in Colorado Springs, USA. (June 2011)
All our three papers were accepted to be presented at the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP) in Bruxelles, Belgium, in September 2011. (April 2011)
Zahra Sadeghipoor successfully passed her PhD candidacy exam. Congratulations, Zahra! (April 2011)
Matthew Brown presented a poster at the IEEE International Conference on Computational Photography (ICCP 2011) based on his paper on Multispectral SIFT for Scene Category Recognition, co-authored with Sabine Süsstrunk, which was accepted for poster presentation at the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR11) in Colorado Springs, USA, in June 2011. (April 2011)
Sabine Süsstrunk gave a keynote at the ICICS/ECE/IEEE Workshop on Future Communications and Multimedia Systems in Vancouver, BC, Canada. (March 2011)
Neda Salamati started her internship at Xerox Research Centre Europe in Grenoble, France (February - August 2011), Albrecht Lindner his internship at OCE Print Logic Technologies in Créteil, France (February - June 2011), and Sabine Süsstrunk her sabbatical in the US (Feb 2011 to July 2011). She was hosted by Prof. Maya Gupta of the Information Design Lab at the University of Washington in Seattle. During that time, she also visited and gave talks at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, the bimagicLab at Carnegie Mellon University, the Graphics, Vision, and Interaction Groups at Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Camera Culture Group in the MIT Media Lab, as well as Qualcomm Research in San Diego, HP Labs in Palo Alto, and Xerox Research Center in Webster, NY.
